Vice President
Four-year leadership track: The Vice President serves a four-year term, advancing annually through the roles of Vice President, President-Elect, President, and Past President.
Vice President (Year One): Assists with planning the annual meeting; prepares the meeting program.
President-Elect (Year Two): Leads Executive Board efforts to plan the annual meeting.
President (Year Three): Oversees all chapter activities and decisions; chairs monthly board meetings, coordinates committees, and hosts the annual meeting.
Past President (Year Four): Supports annual meeting planning and provides guidance to board members.
Secretary
Two-year term; eligible for one consecutive re-election: The Secretary maintains chapter records, records meeting minutes and correspondence, manages the website, oversees election ballots, and reports election results.
Treasurer
Two-year term; eligible for one consecutive re-election: The Treasurer manages the society’s finances, including accounts (Wells Fargo, PayPal, Fidelity), bill payments, sponsor invoicing, and tax filings. They track the annual meeting budget, handle related expenses, and assist with planning. The role also includes maintaining the membership roster and supporting fundraising efforts, particularly during the conference banquet. Workload is seasonal: minimal activity (about 1 hour/month) from May–December, increasing to roughly 2 hours/week leading up to the annual meeting, plus active support during the event and post-meeting tasks such as reconciling accounts and completing tax filings. Total time commitment is approximately 40 hours per year.
Members-at-Large
Two-year term; two positions; each eligible for one consecutive re-election: The Members-at-Large serve as liaisons between the Executive Board and committee chairs. One Member coordinates with the Education & Outreach, Paper & Poster Judging, and Membership Committees. The other coordinates with the Awards, Conservation Affairs, and Student Affairs Committees, and serves as liaison to the Northwest Section.
